Adding an amazing 4th member to our women-powered engineering dream team, this quarter we developed a wireless controller and hovercraft centered around a meme theme. Our "Snek" controller allowed us to control the left/right and speed of the doge, brake, pair and unpair with other hovercrafts, and view IMU data sent back from our "Doge" hovercraft.
My primary role was working on the mechanical design of the hovercraft, which included design of the skirt for the hovercraft, evaluating our first hovercraft body and determining if we needed to make changes, incorporating the doge theme, and mounting of the various motors and lift fan among other details. I also worked on designing and troubleshooting the motor drive systems on the hovercraft as well as the primary web design and descriptions for our site.
