Designing for Sustainability ● Medical Device

o Project Engineer assigned with analyzing and redesigning internal components of medical device to conserve and streamline the usage of one-use materials and components

o Directed internal brainstorms on both actual usage and reworking of internal components with engineering team; concepted new designs

o Interfaced with clients and communicated technical decisions to non-technical decision makers, created reports, decision matrices, and presentations that communicated statistics and design tradeoffs clearly to clients

o Analyzed and presented on new material selections and component testing

User Experience - Physical Products ● Advanced Haptics Development
o Joined the project after initial product design and manufacturing complete, responsible for testing the responsiveness and feedback from product when in use

o Simulated characteristic vibrations for haptics optimization to enhance user experience o Analyzed system with accelerometer data to understand simulated vs. actual system response to different waveforms

o Ensured project timeline and progress was shared both within the company and with the client, while educating on expectations and changes in timeline in accordance with new developments

o Led the planning of process flow and vendor selection for overseas manufacturing

User Interaction - UX Prototype ● Sustainability Device
o Early phase user interaction prototype

o Project lead for 2.5 person (incl. part time member) team
▪ Coordinating mechanical and electrical project aspects

o Designed and built 80-20 frame to integrating into existing system
o Selected and designed around several electromechanical components o Primary contact point & meeting lead for client interactions

Diversity and Inclusion

● Pay Equity Initiative

o Inspired by passion for increased representation of minority groups in engineering (women, people of color, LGBTQ+, etc.), led initiative to analyze pay equity within organization

o Compiled research on how other for-profit organizations have conducted internal pay equity monitoring, specifically within the adjusted pay gap

o Designed a unique tool to analyze issues specific to organization using descriptive statistics, analyzing both the wage gap and opportunity gap

o Collaborate with C-Suite and Human Resources to analyze salary data, and will present findings in Q4 of 2019

● Brown Bag Lunches
o Presented multiple “brown bag” sessions to company on LGBTQ+ history and allyship

● Building Engineering Emotional Intelligence
o Surveyed employees on team pain points, found that employees wanted more formal methods to learn from one another as well as better ways to communicate

o Proposed an “Emotional Intelligence Initiative” to founders, wherein employees with specific skills would teach others in the organization about their chosen topic (team leadership, communication, self-awareness, etc.)

  • ●  Provided resource materials & coached 3 other coworkers on their respective presentations

  • ●  Developed final presentation for completing initiative

    Engineering Intern, Dash Robotics
    San Francisco, CA
    June 2017 - September 2017
Dash Robotics is a product development studio specializing in smart devices and robotics. The company offers

    creative
and innovative solutions at the intersections of hardware, software, and design.

Walking Dinosaur Toy - Mattel for Jurassic World

o Given 8 weeks to take product from concept to polished “works like/looks like” product for large

industry trade show
o Worked with a team of 4-6 people through early-stage prototypes inspired by biomimicry, creating

mechanical moving prototypes that mimic the movement of a raptor
o Utilized Creo, SolidWorks, Arduino coding, C programming, linkages, mechanism, and circuit design

Process Engineering Intern

Berlin Heart GmBH

June - August 2015

o Traveled to Berlin, Germany to work at Berlin Heart in the Process Engineering and Research and Development divisions

o Completed maintenance of CAD data sets, monitored long-term reliability tests, and analyzed manufacturing tests

o In the Research and Development department, designed a test for vibrational analysis, analyzed the results, and created a report for the department.

Academic & Research Experience

Teaching Assistant, ME 112: Mechanical Systems Design - Professor Mark Cutkosky

Stanford University

Winter 2018

o Course Description: Characteristics of machine elements including gears, bearings, and shafts. Design for fatigue life. Electric motor fundamentals. Team-based design projects emphasizing the balance of physical and virtual prototyping based on engineering analysis.

  • ●  Worked with a team of 20 teaching assistants, responsible for running 2-3 lab sessions per week with partner TAs (lab topics: power transmission, gear analysis, and practical assembly skills)

  • ●  Helped students navigate issues within engineering teams, giving actionable feedback during design reviews

  • ●  Graded, troubleshooted, and reviewed MATLAB code and Working Model simulations

  • ●  Mentored students on graduate school and internship applications

Researcher, Designing for Education Lab

Stanford University
2014 - 2017
Led by Professor Sheri Sheppard, investigated a range of engineering education topics, from the persistence of alumni
and students in engineering fields to the impact of exposure to entrepreneurship on students' career interests.

● 2016 - 2017

o Spent the academic school year designing and deploying a climate survey to the mechanical engineering undergraduate population
